Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford, an American actor and singer. Her early Broadway shows included Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. The actress was awarded her Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in the Play to play Essie Carmichael from You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh has been collaborating on projects with award-winning director as well as actors and producers throughout the course of her professional career. Ashford will next be seen as a co-star with Kumail Nanjiani as part of the Hulu limited series Welcome to Chippendales from creator Robert Siegel premiering on November 22. Ashford currently works in Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust with Sarah Paulson, Ebon Moss Bachrach and Ebon Mosch-Bachrach. It's also available in the form of an Hulu Original on Disney DTC. Ashford is set to appear as Josh Groban on Broadway's Lunt-Fontanne Theatre for the upcoming March 2023 revival of Stephen Sondheims Sweeney Todd. This show will be produced by Thomas Kail and produced by Jeffrey Seller, the team who produced Hamilton. Ashford has most recently played Paula Jones in the new Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment based on the nation's crisis, which swept into Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky and Linda Tripp as principal characters in the country's first impeachment proceedings in over one century. For two seasons, she was a star of CBS's hit comedy B Positive. The show was written by Marco Pennette, Chuck Lorre and Linda Lavin. Also, it included Ben Vereen as well as Hector Elizondo. Sunday in the Park starring George Wicked and Legally Blonde are just a few of her Broadway credits. Her birthplace and childhood was in Denver Ashford currently splits the time in Los Angeles and New York.
